It’s DAUSA’s seventh year and Danawanons from all over United States will come to Los Angeles to observe a tradition honoring their beloved patron saint, Santo Tomas de Villanueva..
This year’s celebration will start with a 9-Saturday novena starting on July 15, 2000, in the home of Joel & Genna Capitan-Diamos in Northridge, California.

Phil-Am Medical Ass’n. of Georgia to Support DAUSA Medical Mission

Dr. Halbert Capoy of Augusta, Georgia, president of Philippine-American Association of Georgia has pledged his association’s and personal support to the yearly medical-surgical-dental mission in Danao City.
Dr. Capoy was born and raised in Carmen, but his parents originally came from and currently reside in Danao City. In a phone conversation with Monching Barriga, Dr. Capoy confided that PAMAG conducts medical missions in the Philippines once every four years and in different province each time.
“Hopefully, in 2004 it will be in Danao City”, he said. Meanwhile, he will help the Medical Mission in terms of medicines and supplies and even plans to join the medical team in the Sept. 2002 DAUSA Medical Mission.
30 DAUSA Scholars Enroll at CSC-ST

DAUSA Adopt-a-Student Project Coordinators Candy Canga and Darling Dayondon confirmed that they had remitted the first semester tuition and miscellaneous fees for 30 scholars who had enrolled at the Cebu State College of Science and Technology – Danao City Campus in Sabang.
These DAUSA scholars are entitled to 4-year free tuition provided they pass all the subjects.

An epidemic more serious and far more debilitating than any disease is softly killing our children. Shabu is a real killer. It attacks the mind, the body and the pocket.
It’s not only the children of the city’s affluent families, also some pedicab drivers, Mitsumi employees who work long hours, istambays, boys and girls as young as 12, are hooked.

Two Danawanons were among the Ten Outstanding Cebuanos in America selected by the National Association of Cebuanos U.S.A., (NAC-USA) an umbrella organization of various Cebuano community organizations.

Pat O. Misa, Chief of Educational Mission 2000 expressed her most sincere gratitude to all donors, most of whom are her own friends and relatives. Their help enabled Pat to deliver to barangay schools much needed assistance.
4th DAUSA Medical Mission All Set

The Danao Association USA, Inc. has again mobilized some 15 U.S. based medical professionals to volunteer in the 4th DAUSA Medical Mission and serve the people of Danao at the Danao District Hospital on September 18 — 20, 2001.
The DAUSA Medical Missions had been a tremendous success since its inception in September 1998. It had served close to 4000 indigent Danawanons, including 36 cleft-lip and palate surgeries, and various other major surgeries such as thyroidictomies, hernias, ovarian tumors and approximately about 300 minor surgeries.
